Welcome to NCAA Baseball's New Website for UmpiresTuesday, January 05, 2010
Welcome to our new national website -- dedicated entirely to college baseball umpires. The NCAA is committed to using this site to deliver the most current online resources available to assist you in your season and your career. I wanted to use this opportunity to help guide you through some of the outstanding features of our new website. Registration: the simple step-by-step registration process is available under the Registration tab. Video: Our website includes one of the most powerful and technologically advanced online video delivery tools currently available. On our site, you will receive your in-season Video Bulletins and Annual Training Video. The 2008 and 2009 NCAA umpire clinics are also available. All registered umpires will have opportunities this season to see plays contributed by coordinators from conferences across the country, as part of our mission to promote national consistency in collegiate umpiring. You can reach the NCAA Baseball Officiating Video page by clicking the VIDEO tab on the top menu bar; or click here for a look. For a detailed rundown of our video capabilities, click on the "Video Help" link located on the upper right side of the Video tab. Test: Please click the TESTING tab on the top menu bar when you are ready to take your annual rules test. This year, all collegiate umpires will have the opportunity to take this test, which was compiled and edited by NCAA secretary-rules editor Jim Paronto. In future years, we will include video in some test questions as we continue to develop resources and enhance your learning experience. For more information on the 2010 NCAA Baseball Rules Test, please click here. Content: On the "Home Plate" Central Hub page you will find all of the information that was previously available to you at eOfficials.com, including written content, prepared by the NCAA, delivering up-to-date interpretations, policies, etc. Periodic “NCAA Baseball Bulletins” will be posted here, as well as special rules bulletins and other timley and important information. You should check this page often as content will be added throughout the season. Officials should not hesitate to contact us to offer suggestions on how we can best use this site to help you. On behalf of the NCAA, welcome to our site, and have a great season! Gene McArtor |
