Welcome to our new national website – dedicated entirely to college softball umpires. The SUIP is committed to using this site to deliver the most current online resources available to assist you in your season and your career.  

I want to use this opportunity to help guide you through some of the outstanding features of our new website.

Registration: the simple step-by-step registration process is available under the REGISTRATION tab.

Content: On the Central Hub page, you will find all of the information that was previously available to you at cactusumpires.com, including written content prepared by the SUIP delivering up-to-date interpretations, policies, etc. Periodic “SUIP Bulletins” will be posted here, as well as special rules information, such as the 2010 Rules Changes. You should check this page often, as content will be added throughout the season.

Clinic: Umpires can access the clinic by clicking here, or you may view the clinic at another time by clicking on the CLINIC tab above. Through this online offering, SUIP intends to employ the power of technology to enhance the training of and communication with softball umpires. The SUIP Online Clinic is available throughout the season for your review. After the season, the clinic will be archived and available for review in the future.

Test: Please click the TESTING tab on the top menu bar when you are ready to take your annual rules test. In future years, we will include video in some test questions as we continue to develop resources and enhance your learning experience.

Video: Our website includes one of the most powerful and technologically advanced online video delivery tools currently available. On our site, you will receive your in-season Video Bulletins, Annual Training Video, and the SUIP Online Clinic. All registered umpires will have opportunities this season to see plays contributed by coordinators from conferences across the country, as part of our mission to promote national consistency in collegiate softball umpiring.

In the future, we will continue to add new features, including a searchable Rules Database with rules linked to related content such as interpretations, play situations and video examples. We also plan to introduce a national registry of softball umpires including recruiting, fitness and career advancement features.
